Many of the people want to appear offline on WhatsApp. There may be many reasons to do that, maybe you want to use WhatsApp only to see the messages you have received and meanwhile you don't want to reply the messages you have received. There may be so many reasons to do that.

So today in this tutorial I am going to show you that how you can appear offline on WhatsApp even when your mobile internet connection is switched on.

As you already know that once your mobile connects to the internet, your friends can see that you are online. So in this tutorial, we use the Firewall app to take control of the mobile internet.

There are so many Firewall apps on Google Play Store but I personally recommend you to download and install Droidwall or NoRoot Firewall.

In this tutorial, we will use NoRoot Firewall to take control of the mobile internet.

NoRoot Firewall


The NoRoot Firewall is the internet security app for Android OS. This app is capable to control your mobile internet connection and as well as has the capability to Allow/Disallow other applications to use the internet. All you need to do is configure the NoRoot Firewall.

How to Configure No-root Firewall to Block WhatsApp Connection


  1. Download and install NoRoot Firewall from Google Play Store on your mobile.
  2. Open NoRoot Firewall app.
  3. Click on the START button.
  4. Click on the apps tab to see all your installed apps then scroll down till you see the WhatsApp.
  5. Click on the two boxes and mark them 🗙.
  6. Turn on your WiFi or mobile data and use your mobile without appearing ONLINE on WhatsApp.

Stay Alert Stay Geek: If you want to use the WhatsApp again, just undo the step 5.
