How to Secure Your Android Smartphone

Hello friends,

The mobile phone is the most private gadget of an individual. It contains the contact list, private messages, and conversations, and has the access to the sensitive mobile applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

It may be dangerous if your phone comes on the wrong hand. If your phone is not secure enough, then anyone can breach your privacy and steal your sensitive information.

Most of the people don't know that how can they secure android smartphone. In this article, I will evaluate the various security measures available in most of the Android smartphones.

1. Fingerprint Lock

If your mobile phone supports the Fingerprint Sensor, then you can add your fingerprints on your mobile to unlock the phone. This feature is available in most of the mobile phones. This is a very cool feature and most secure than any other security measures available on any phone. All you need to do is go to the mobile SETTINGS, find the SECURITY option, click on SCREEN LOCK and select the FINGERPRINT LOCK and scan your finger to add your fingerprints on your smartphone.

2. Facial Recognition

This is another cool feature available in most of the Android smartphones. The Android phone uses an application which is capable to recognize the person from a digital image or a video source. To use this feature, go to the mobile SETTINGS and then click on SECURITY option, open SCREEN LOCK and click on FACIAL RECOGNITION to set the screen lock.

Note: Any person who looks similar to you can easily unlock the phone. So use this feature carefully.

3. Voice Unlock

By this feature, you can add commands to your phone such as Unlock Command, Launch Camera Command, Launch Messaging Command, etc. The Android smartphone is capable to identify your voice and commands. This feature is also available under SCREEN LOCK option.

4. Pattern Lock

You can also secure your phone by adding the Pattern Lock to your phone. This feature is available under SCREEN LOCK options. But I personally recommend you to use Fingerprint Lock or Password Lock because they are more secure then Pattern Lock.

5. Password Lock

This feature is available under SCREEN LOCK option. You can set your desire password to unlock the phone but there are some security tips which you always need to apply, not only on the smartphone but also on the websites where you signup.

  1. Never use the password like your name, date of birth, ATM pin code, phone number, zip code, etc.
  2. Your password must be at least 8 characters long
  3. Always use mix characters containing upper case, lower case, numbers and special characters. For an example: iN$1gHtG@dGet$

6. Use App Lock

The AppLock is an Android application which you can use on both phone and tablet to secure your sensitive applications.
